Tea-rific Tartan with Jennifer Ogborn!
Hi! I'm Jennifer, a designer for Sizzix, and today I'd love to show you some exciting new tea-time designs! I'll be using my 'Tea-rific' stamps (666033) with the Tartan stencil (664933) alongside our exciting Stencil and Stamp Tool (664896)!
Nothing beats a good brew (as I call it). In the UK, a cup of tea is the answer to pretty much any problem! So in true English style I thought - what better way to combine this love with my other - crafting!
And that is how the 'Tea-rific' stamps (666033) idea came to life.
Back in Chapter 2, I designed Tea Cups (665898), which is a beautiful Thinlits set. It includes a few different styles of mugs and some pretty foliage. I love this set by itself, but I thought it would be great to have some sentiments to work alongside.
Starting off with some sketches and brainstorming a few tongue-in-cheek phrases, my idea came to life!
I decided I wanted to create a picnic-y type card to show off this new Sizzix stamp set. So, working with the NEW Stencil and Stamp Tool (664896), I chose the Tartan (664933) stencil to compliment this theme.
First, I used the mint-coloured stencil adapter to build up the layers of colour, before switching to the stamping plate to position my sentiment.
Changing between the stencil adapter and the stamp plate was straightforward and made it easy to combine both techniques onto one card.
The sticky grid sheet on the base of the tool kept my cardstock in place, plus the grid guidelines made alignment trouble-free.
I love how the card came out, and really think the Tartan stencilling makes the other elements pop!
My Tea-rific stamps are perfect for cardmaking and papercraft, all year round! It's amazing how changing up the colours can adapt your makes to any occasion. For example, here are a few festive projects made with the Tartan stencil, which I think are effective!
I would love to see what projects you create using the NEW stencil and Stamp Tool! So please share your makes with me on Instagram using #mysizzixstory and tagging me @jennifer_ogborn_sizzix.
