What Is Die Cutting?
Hello and welcome to the world of Die Cutting!
Die Cutting is a quick and easy way of cutting out a shape with a Die Cutting Machine and a Die Cutting Set, instead of cutting out a shape by hand! Think of it this way: you’re making biscuits and you want them to be heart shaped. Instead of shaping them by hand you’d go out and buy a heart shaped biscuit cutter. Well, that’s what Dies do!
What Is A Die Cutting Machine?
A Die Cutting Machine works by feeding a cutting die or embossing folder through the machine which then applied even pressure through steel rollers to cut or emboss a shape onto your selected craft material.
What Is A Cutting Die?
A Cutting Die is a metal frame that comes in different shapes and sizes. The sides of the frame are thin so that when pressure is applied when run through a die cutting machine the shape of the die then cuts into your craft material leaving you with a cut out of the die to be used in all your craft projects.

Hi I’m Josh, I absolutely love paper craft and mixed media. I have a background in watercolour painting and I am inspired by the illustrations in children’s books, so I love creating cards with character dies. Big Shot
Our standard manual machine cuts most materials up to 15.24cm wide. The cutting pads included in this machine are 15.56cm x 22.23cm.
Big Shot Plus
Does the same as the Big Shot but can cut up to A4. Use this machine to cut your plus dies. The cutting pads included in this machine are 22.23cm x 38.10cm.
Big Shot Foldaway
Like the Big Shot but this machine folds away. This manual machine cuts most materials most materials up to 15.24cm wide. The cutting pads included in this machine are 15.56cm x 22.23cm.
Big Shot Express
Like this Big Shot this machine cuts most materials up to 15.24cm wide. The cutting pads included in this machine are 15.56cm x 22.23cm.
Choose Your Sizzix Die or Embossing Folder…
Thinlits Dies
These Dies are wafer thin and come in all shapes and sizes, helping you cut the most intricate designs from your paper or card.
Bigz Dies
With a steel rule blade, the Bigz Die Sets can cut multiple layers of paper or card, and can even cut fabric making them ideal for quilters.
Framelits Dies
Like Thinlits, these are wafer thin. The basic shapes and various sizes are a must have for any crafter! A great place to start for a beginner.
