Hi friends!
Today we are using ours Big Shot and Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 5PK - Holiday Knit to make a Christmas candle holder elegant and beautiful . We will use the dies to make a stencil and paint a glass bottle with spray paint.
You need
- Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 5PK - Holiday Knit (660981)
- Your Big Shot (I used my Big Shot Express)
- vinyl adhesive
- glass jar
- old newspapers
- disposable gloves
- scissors
- pencil
- spray paint
Step by Step
Cut the Christmas stencil positioning the plastic side of vinyl adhesive down (to die). For a full-size jar I used three shapes.
2- Before separating the die vinyl, with the pencil we mark the outlines of the shape and cut with scissors.
3- We removed the vinyl liner and paste it on the bottle (clean and dry)
4- We paint with the spray paint about 25 cm away from the jar, paint should not drip, must deposit a thin layer on the glass, this must be deposited in a thin layer on the glass. Let dry and repeat until get desired coverage *
5- Allow to dry for several hours, then carefully remove the stencil
*Paint in a well ventilated place, protecting the table with old newspapers and your hands with gloves.
It is important that each layer of paint is thin, it is better to give 3 or 4 coats of paint. Thus the paint sticks better on the glass and not drip.
What do you think? This idea can be adapted to any celebration and can be done with any color. Normal spray paint can be lifted if the holders scrape, for a longer lasting result using glass paint.

Oggi useremo la nostra Big Shot e le fustelle di Natale a forma di bordo o nastro per fare un portacandele di Natale elegante e bello. Useremo le fustelle per fare uno stencil e verniceremo un barattolo di vetro con vernice spray.
Materiali
- Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 5PK - Holiday Knit (660981)
- la tua Big Shot (io ho usato la mia Big Shot Express)
- vinile adesivo
- barattolo di vetro
- vecchi giornali
- guanti usa e getta
- forbici
- matita
- vernice spray
1- Tagliare il motivo posizionando il vinile con il lato plastico verso il basso (verso la fustella). Per un barattolo normale mi sono serviti 3 motivi.
2- Prima di levare la fustella, con la matita segnare i bordi e dopo ritagliare con le forbici
3- Togliere la carta prottetiva del vinile e incollarlo sul barattolo (pulito ed asciutto)
4- Con la bomboletta a circa 25 cm di distanza dal barattolo verniciare senza fare sgocciolare la vernice, si deve depositare una capa fine di vernice sul vetro. Lasciar asciugare e ripetete fino ad ottenere la copertura desiderata*
5- Lasciare asciugare diverse ore, dopo togliere lo stencil con cura
* verniciare in un luogo ventilato, proteggendo il tavolo con dei fogli di giornale e le mani con i guanti.
E' importante che ogni capa di vernice sia sottile, è meglio dare diverse mani per far in modo che la vernice aderisca bene al vetro e non sgoccioli.
Che ne pensate? Questa idea si può adattare ad ogni genere di celebrazione e fare in colori diversi. La vernice spray normale si può levare se il portacandele viene graffiato, per un risultato più duraturo potete usare vernice speciale per vetro.

Hoy usaremos nuestra Big Shot y los troqueles Thinlits en forma de guarda navideña para hacer un portavelas de Navidad elegante y bonito. Usaremos los troqueles para hacer un stencil y pintaremos un frasco de cristal con pintura en aerosol.
Materiales
- Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 5PK - Holiday Knit (660981)
- Tu Big Shot (Yo usé mi Big Shot Express)
- vinilo adhesivo
- frasco de cristal
- periódicos viejos
- guantes desechables
- tijeras
- lápiz
- pintura en aerosol
Paso a paso
1- Cortar la guarda navideña posicionando el vinilo con el lado del plástico hacia abajo (hacia el troquel). Para un frasco de tamaño normal usé 3 guardas
2-Antes de separar el troquel del vinilo, con el lápiz marcamos los contornos de la cinta y cortamos con las tijeras
3- Retiramos el papel protectivo del vinilo y lo pegamos sobre el frasco (limpio y seco)
4- Con el aerosol a unos 25 cm del frasco vamos pintando, la pintura no debe chorrear, debe depositarse una capa fina sobre el cristal. Dejar secar y repetir hasta obtener la cobertura deseada *
5- Dejar secar varias horas, luego retirar con cuidado el stencil
* pintar en un lugar bien aireado, protegiendo la mesa con periódicos viejos y las manos con guantes.
Es importante que cada capa de pintura sea fina, es mejor dar 3 o 4 manos de pintura. De este modo la pintura adherirá mejor sobre el cristal y no chorreará.
Qué os parece? Esta idea se puede adaptar a cualquier celebración y se puede hacer con cualquier color. La pintura en aerosol normal se puede levantar si se raspa el portavelas, para un resultado más duradero usar pintura para cristal.
