Did you know?
Sizzix belongs to the Ellison family; the inventors of the first-ever consumer hand-operated die-cutting machine! We're really proud of this history, and since then we have established ourselves as the market pioneer and leader of DIY die-cutting machines and products for the arts and crafts industry.
A little bit of history
In 1977, the first-ever consumer hand-operated die-cutting machine, the original Ellison LetterMachine, was invented in a small 2-bedroom apartment by LaDorna and Bob Eichenberg. LaDorna was an art teacher who identified a need for die-cutters in classrooms, saving teachers valuable time previously spent cutting out paper and card into letters and numbers. Ellison continues to operate within the education market, and after years of growth, success and awards, the Sizzix brand was launched in 2001 to cater to makers and the DIY market.
The answer to all of your making needs
The DIY creative lifestyle is at the heart of the Sizzix brand, and so in order to empower and support the evolving needs of makers we have developed our range of die-cutting machines over the years.
