Here is a make that I used as a demonstration on a recent Hochanda show...

You will need

I started by die-cutting my chosen butterfly from thin paper which works best for inked stencils, I will be using both the positive and negative die-cuts. I cut a square of white card and attached the stencil using a light application of spray adhesive before inking with the Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet pads after which I removed the stencil before spritzing with clean water to achieve a mottled effect.

I applied the positive die-cut butterfly directly over the stencilled image as a mask before stamping the text after which I removed the mask. Next, I drew around the butterfly with a pencil, as you can see, a steady hand is not necessary! Finally, I die-cut the letters to spell the word 'hello' from silver card before mounting them in place.

The alphabet is really easy to use as the tails overlap making placement relatively simple. The second card was made to celebrate the marriage of Lottie who is one of the wonderful producers at Hochanda who was married this weekend. It is made using the same methods but I introduced some Crushed Olive ink to balance the background colours.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon
