We are loving our rainbow makes here at Sizzix right now, and if you trawl back through my blogs you will find that it has been a favorite motif of mine for sometime now, I used to love 'Rainbow' the band too, remember them?
I started off making one and ended up making three! Here's how I did it...
If you are not familiar with the Wedding Wreath die set it contains a few separate dies, one of which is this lovely little spiral flower. All you need to do to create the mini rose is grip the edge with your tweezers, roll against the pad of your finger to the centre. and secure with either hot or express glue. Use the tweezers to curl back some of the outer petals.
I want to place my flowers in an arc around my sentiment so I drew around a Framelits Circle die as a guide template.
The Sizzix cardstock really shines in this make (helped on it's way by some clear glitter).
Here is a couple of super quick cards that I made for a recent Create and Craft show. I'm using five of the circle dies from Tim's Stacked Tiles, Circles set which I die-cut from the Sizzix Cardstock, matted together and cut in half... does it get any easier?
As you can see in the image above, I also die-cut some squiggles from the Opulent silver cadstock pack using dies from Tim's Media Marks set (love those dies!) The sentiments were pre-printed using my PC.
A little fun with fruit here!
I used an assortment of Distress Oxide Inks blended to make a rainbow on white card before spritzing with clean water. Once dry, I cut into strips and die-cut my lemons.
After blending a few shades of Green Oxide Ink, I die-cut several of the leaves. In the bottom image above, you can see how I applied a little Vintage Photo ink to the very edges of my die-cuts to give more contrast.
Originally, I thought "Wouldn't it be nice to have a rainbow of different fruits" then I looked at the lemon on the die and it all fell into place. Funny how these things work!
well that was fun!
Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon
