Hey everyone, it's Raquel here with you today sharing a fun tutorial on the perfect card design that you could create and gift in bulk this Christmas. When I create cards to give over the Christmas period I think of two things; does it look cute? and will the design be easy and achievable to create multiple cards? I was able to answer 'yes' to both those questions when creating these cards for you today. I think these would be a perfect design if you need to create to gift to your loved ones.
I have some step by step instructions to give you today below but also a video process video which you can watch to see how these cards came together using some papers and the beautiful Noel Bigz die.
To begin these cards I cut out my card bases using a Kraft Cardstock. These cards are a 4x6" Landscape design. I also gathered the materials and tools I would need. I couldn't go past using my foldaway, I love the convenience of its compactness.
I cut my patterned paper to fit within the 'Noel' text of the die. The Bigz dies are great because they contain a steel rule die within and allow you to cut multiple paper layers at once. In this case I cut two sheets, but if I was to be making many cards I would have cut a lot more.
I added a pop of red behind the negative of the trees and cut some patterned paper for the background.
The next step was to adhere strips of red paper to the top and bottom of each of the background pieces. This not only added a nice detail, but also helped to ground the pop of red in the word. I added some machine stitching to give the card design a little more texture and detail also.
The patterned base and Noel text were both adhered to the page with a foam adhesive. It is so effective yet such a simple design element.
I finished the card design with a 'merry Christmas' sentiment sticker that I had in my crafty supplies. You could even use a word processed sentiment or simply leave the sentiment off too.
I hope you have been inspired by this Christmas card tutorial today. It certainly isn't too late to get started on that bulk Christmas card making and this design is a perfect one for it.
See you on the making journal next week!
