art-1That's right folks, it's that time of year, new dies from Tim Holtz. The projects that follow all featured on a Hochanda 'one day special' last weekend.Actually....They only featured for the Friday launch show and the first ten minutes of the Saturday morning show at which point we sold out, so you don't have to take my word for it when I tell you how great these sets are as it seems hundreds of Hochanda customers seem to agree.

I have to thank all the team at Hochanda for making me feel at home. they are very focused and professional whilst being relaxed and easy going at the same time which is a pretty tough balancing act.

The sets I want to show you are.....

_DSC4810These cards are almost identical to a set I made last year using the first set of wildflower dies which were so popular Tim has very kindly designed a second set.

_DSC4812here are a couple more using Distress Inks to add a little colour.

_DSC4808Never throw away any old scraps of wood, and if you can get your hands on an old pallet more the better.

_DSC4819If you love Sizzix dies then the Bigz Tattered Florals die needs no introduction from me. It's our best selling die by far and Tim has kindly shrunk down the designs to create a 21 die Thinlits set which contains all those beautiful shapes in a variety of sizes.

_DSC4826Here you can see some of the tiny florals in the bell jar on the right hand side, the left hand project features dies from the mini detailed butterfly set. I think these two create quite a nice contrast?

_DSC4815Here are a few cards showing off the butterflies with a couple of stencilling/masking techniques.

_DSC4816Here are a couple of cards very similar to some that were made for a video using their larger cousins. the card on the right was made using the butterfly die-cut from the face of the card on the left.

_DSC4823Here  are the trees cut using the Bigz Village Landscape die. They are a perfect companion to Tim's houses but you don't have to use then in a 3-D format as you will see below......

_DSC4829As I said on the show, cacti are everywhere you look at the moment (so be careful where you sit!), the cacti on the second card where stamped using cork, pretty neat effect? The Christmas tree is hessian mounted onto mount board before die-cutting and inking etc.

_DSC4821Another set which featured on the show is a couple of years old but its still one of my favourites. The first Mixed Media Thinlits set is still as popular today as it was when it was launched. The frame features a picture of my Grandfather in his blacksmiths apron and this is on its way to my Aunty Carol as we speak!

I hope you like these new sets as much as the customers at Hochanda do.

Thanks for stopping by, see you next Wednesday.
