Hey everyone, it's Raquel here back with a new make and tutorial with you today. Todays make features the Thinlits Sunflower die set, which I have changed up a little and added a pop of colour to. The bright selection of colours in the Making Essentials card stock pack was perfect for the look that I wanted to achieve on this card. My aim was to incorporate bright florals, against a textured white background.
Here are some of the goodies that I gathered to create this card today.
To begin a embossed a white piece of card stock with the Tropical Leaf embossing folder. This piece is acting as the background piece of the card. The texture of the embossing adds a lovely detail and is a simple effect to achieve.
I cut two sunflower heads from each of the three bright coloured card stock pieces that I had selected and the inner piece from the lovely yellow card stock in the pack.
Once I had all my pieces required die cut, it was time to begin assembling my card. To begin I adhered the white embossed piece to the card base.
I then used a combination of foam adhesive and liquid glue to adhere the flower pieces together and to the bottom left corner of the card base.
The card needed a sentiment so I stamped the Love You from the Framelits w/stamp Love you Tons set and nestled that within the flowers using foam adhesive.
Heres a look at the finished product. I love creating simple but statement cards like this one.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Making Journal today, see you this time next week!
