Life's Good- Mixed media Tag
This is Jasleen, and I’m back with a new make for this week.
Take a look :
The tag die set has 8 dies, with 6 varied sizes of tags. I just loved this collection and I think it’s a ’must have’ die set if you regularly need tags for gifting options. I chose to go with the largest tag die.
Firstly, sponged the distress inks over the tag die cut and splattered some water randomly followed by drying with my heat tool. I continued smooshing the inks until I was happy with the background.
Then I stenciled a large butterfly(which got hidden under the embellishments) using Faded Jeans distress ink. After this was done, added the brick wall texture using Ranger’s texture paste and Kaisercraft brick stencil.
Then I adhered a piece of cheese cloth followed by some torn and distressed pieces of paper from an old novel and adhered them over the tag with multi medium matte gel.
Those scribbled flowers are from the ‘scribbles and splat’ die set, coloured partially using acrylic paints. I needed the yellow flower to be smaller, so I cut off some portion of the die cut to get the desired size.
The stem, tiny leaves, hearts are all doodled with the help of gel pens.
Although I don’t often do mixed media, but I really enjoyed the process of making this tag and loved the creative freedom it gave me. I think I’ll do this more often. : ) The ‘scribbles and splat’ dies are just perfect for any mixed media work.
Can’t wait to hear your feedback about this. : )
I hope you feel inspired to try some tags. I’ll see you again next week.
