Hey everyone, it's Raquel here and I am sharing a fun 'birthday inspired' make with you for my project today. In a couple of days my little girl is turning 6 (I can hardly believe it!) so I was inspired to create a fun sweet treat for her. One of her favourite treats if we are out shopping is to have a donut, so that sparked todays project design. I did not have a 'donut' die in my stash so I decided to play with Framelits and the circle set to create my own donut. I teamed the base of the donut design with the scallop heart framelits. The scalloped edge gave the impression that the donut has had a bit taken out of it. I finished the donut design with the sprinkles on top, this was created by cutting tiny strips of paper from bright colours in the card stock pack. I tend to keep all my small card stock scraps of paper now as they come in handy in die cutting projects. Don't you agree?
Once I finished the donut design and adhered it to a toothpick I figured I needed a sentiment to add. My typewriter always comes in handy in times like this. I find the typewritten font gives a polished and finished look but is so quick and efficient at the same time. I used the jam packed Frames thinlits set to cut the cute banner label stating 'Happy Birthday, DONUT grow up'. My thoughts exactly! The pink washi tape from the accessory pack added a cute little touch to the stems of the toothpicks. All that was left now was to insert the toppers into a donut and present it to the birthday girl!
Thanks so much for stopping by today
