Christmas Tree Tags
It's Natalie here from One Scrappy Doctor and today I'm going to show you how to make some super-quick tags with your Sizzix dies that will make great present toppers. Can you believe how close we are to Christmas already? Crazy how fast that sneaks up on us isn't it?! If you're anything like me then you've got great plans for all the lovely handmade touches you're going to add to your gifts this year, but you still haven't quite got around to it!
I always start my tags off by using the Sizzix Framelits Tag Collection die set (#658784) and some patterned paper. It means I can coordinate the colours for my project right from the very beginning. I typically use the biggest die because it gives you plenty of space to get creative on your tag!
So today I've decided to make a miniature snowy forest scene on my tag with the trees from the Sizzix Thinlits Woodlands set (#658784). I cut a version from navy patterned paper and another version from white cardstock. My idea is that if I layer these on top of one another, but just slightly offset them it looks like a dark tree with it's snowy covering. Or like it's casting a shadow behind it. It gives extra depth and is a great trick to keep in mind for so many projects.
To assemble the rest of the tag I freehand cut some more white cardstock to represent snowy hills, and again layered these in front of some grey patterned paper to look like shadows. I flicked some white ink onto the background to make it look like it was snowing, and after sticking down the trees I added white glitter to the edges of the tree and ground.
I finished it off with gold sequins and tied some twine through the top. There's plenty of space on the back of them to write a message if I feel up to it, or just enough space in the snowy layers to write a name for these tags to be addressed.
And there you have it! A couple of tags that I whipped up in no time at all. Creating with your Sizzix dies just makes it so easy!!
