Christmas Chapter 4 with Tim Holtz!
All things Christmas! Get ready for an exciting project by designer Kath with a feature on Tim Holtz for Sizzix Chapter 4!
In this blog is a step by step guide to a Christmas shaker card using Arctic and Darling Deer Thinlits along with Sizzix Circle Framelits and Circle Shaker Domes.
You will need:
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray – Speckled Egg
Tim Holtz Distress White/Kraft HeavyStock and Distress Watercolor Card
Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain – Speckled Egg, Rustic Wilderness
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Rustic Wilderness
Tim Holtz Distress Archival Ink – Vintage Photo
Distress Collage Medium Matte
Ranger White Enamel Accents
Step by Step:
Step 1: Spritz Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Spray and Speckled Egg and Rustic Wilderness Distress Spray Stains on to a craft mat, lay a panel of Distress White HeavyStock on to the ink and dry with a heat tool. Repeatedly tap the panel back into the ink to pick up the remaining droplets, drying between layers.
Step 2: Die-cut the Arctic Thinlits from Distress Watercolor Card and use Sizzix Circle Framelits to die-cut the shaker aperture.
Step 3: Use a larger circle die to die-cut a frame from Distress Watercolor card.
Step 4: Apply Rustic Wilderness Distress ink lightly around the edge of the die-cut frame using a mini round blending tool and fix to the Arctic background using adhesive.
Step 5: Use the die-cut aperture and Circle Framelits die to mark a circle with a pencil on the inked background. Cut snow slopes from scraps of white card and fix in place.
Step 6: Die-cut the Darling Deer Thinlits from Distress Kraft HeavyStock, ink the bodies lightly with Distress ink using a mini round blending tool. Fix the smallest deer and some of the waste snowflakes from the Arctic panel within the shaker area.
Step 7: Add the Sizzix Sequins and Beads into the centre of the shaker area, remove the self adhesive backing from the Shaker Dome and fix in place.
Step 8: Trim the panels to measure 4.1/2” x 5.1/2, fix together with Distress Collage Medium and add Distress Ink lightly around the edges using a mini round blending tool.
Step 9: To finish, cut a thin strip of the left-over coloured background, stamp the sentiment with Distress Archival Ink and fix to the bottom of the panel. Fix the remaining Darling Deer in place and add small dots of Ranger White Enamel Accents on their backs. Fix the panel to a 5” x 6” Distress Kraft HeavyStock card. Fix a panel of Distress White HeavyStock inside the card for your Christmas message.
