A lot of us (me) are dreaming of those days when we could grab our camping gear and head off into the great outdoors for a few days. I miss it so much, I decided to bring the outdoors in, with this Chapter 2 die called (you guessed it) 'Great Outdoors'. This set is perfect for lovers of camping and all things nature. It has lots of elements you can play around with to create a fantastic outdoor scene.

I used the Oval Framelit dies of varying sizes to create half ovals which are layered in size order. I used shades of green and brown to create a gradient.

Foam Tape was used to adhere the half-ovals together to create dimension. This also enabled me to hide the bottoms of the die cut elements. within each segment.

for the trees, I cut the elements from three shades of green card: Lush Leaves, Agave and Green Tea.

I then die-cut the tent elements from three shades of blue: Bluebell, Arctic Sky and Dark blue from the Neutral card pack. I then chose to cut some clouds from white card and added a tiny bit of light blue inking.

Here's what my cut-out elements look like together. This is such a fun project to play about with. I positioned the elements many times before deciding on an arrangement I liked.

I used my Multitool with the craft knife attachment and a metal ruler to cut a sheet of smooth white card to fit inside my chosen frame. Then, I used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon to lightly ink an area behind where I position my layered elements.

And here is the finished result. I finished it off with some small foliage elements. any small leaf or grass dies will do for this. I also use Tim Holtz's Tiny Type lower case to create my sentiment.

I chose a wooden frame to match the natural theme of the composition. Now I can put this up on the wall to remind me of the amazing times ahead, spent in the Great Outdoors.

Thanks for reading :) I hope you like it and I would love to see your own spin on this idea.
