This is Jasleen posting today.  Countdown to the New Year has begun and I think this is a good time to get some 2017 planner diaries for gifting. In todays post, I show you how I altered the cover page of one such diary. A gift with our own creative personal touch is always nicer, isn’t it?

Most of the dies I used here are from the Sizzix Essentials category .

I covered my diary with a turquoise coloured patterned paper and added a black paper strip along the spine.

Then I adhered a strip of golden Washi tape along the edge of black paper.

I die cut the letters 2, 0, 1, 7 from Sizzix Thinlits die set using a gold glitter paper sheet and adhered these over the top right corner.

Then I splattered some gold (inka gold-viva décor) and black acrylic paint over the diary cover to add some interest.

I die cut those feathers from the Sizzix Bigz feather duo die set and sponged some distress inks over the feather die cuts.

Then I assembled the doily from Sizzix hello doily set, feathers, the felt heart along with the white thread over the cover to complete the embellishing.

The ‘today’ is also from Sizzix  thinlits birthday numbers die set. I completed the sentiment by adding a handwritten sentiment strip.

Pretty simple but looks elegant. A hint of creativity to anything we do on a day-to-day basis sure makes a lot of difference. I hope you’ll try it out too.

Will be back with some more similar ideas.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a lovely festive week ahead!
