Angela has always enjoyed working with textiles and yarn, learning to sew, knit, crochet, macramé and lace. Angela was invited to be involved with the development of a new range of dies for patchwork with Sizzix, which has been successfully launched in Spring 2012. Q & A
Q. How did your interest in quilting begin?
When I had a job in a shop specialising in fabrics for patchwork I was required to learn how to make a quilt. I knew about patchwork, but had until that point preferred dressmaking. The first quilt I made was a king-size Double Irish chain for family friends. After that I was hooked, and have to admit that my sewing preference is now patchwork and my cupboards are full of fabric for patchwork.
Q. How has your career within the quilting industry developed?
I became manageress of the patchwork shop, worked at quilting events, and helped choose new ranges of fabric. I also proof read patterns for one of the patchwork wholesalers before the patterns went onto their website. About 2 years ago I learnt about the plan for Sizzix to create dies for patchwork and quilting, and was able to be involved with that process.
