Unexpected stop in Paris - journal page with Sizzix :)
Friday, 14 June, 2013

Hi again friends!
There are some days that should simply not happen - one of these, during which you shouldn't get out of bed, or at least - out of your house. I had 2 days like this in a row like this this week... and it was all because of the strikes on the Paris Airport - starting just on the day of my planned flight home! Grrr!
I'm not the master of planning, but I'm trying to get organized as much as possible with my crazy, busy life - this unexpected stop made me lose my balance completely... of course there were some advantages: spending more time with friends, having more time for sleeping... or this small project I made one evening in my altered book journal :)

Limited access to supplies makes you creative and opens your mind, I think:)
I made this journal page using just a bit of gesso, tea stain, some small tags and white paper scraps I got from my friends, masking tape, thread and twine and a crochet flower. Luckily I had a paper doily and one Sizzix cut out left from the class on Saturday:
- 657996 - Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Card, Scallop Circle Insert
So I could work some more on layers and details.
In the end, I had really great creative time playing and splashing tea in my journal. Great company, music, chocolate and free evening eased my stress and made my life a bit better.
Soon I will share some photos from my classes I had with my lovely students from France - see you soon!
Sending warmest hugs

Prima and Sizzix - perfect match!
Tuesday, 11 June, 2013

Hi Sizzix fans! I hope you had a great, creative week. I had! I`ve got a layout for you that is based on the new Prima and Sizzix Dies: "Flora Grande" collection. Isn't it a perfect collaboration?
In the time I was creating this layout I had a feeling I need a deeper breath, something light and optimistic - maybe because the weather outside was dark and gloomy?
From the first moment when I saw the new "Flora Grande" collection by Prima and Sizzix I knew that Albany Rose die has a huge potential for me - beautiful, not only as an embellishment, but why not using it as a small stencil or pattern in the background too? Tempting idea for further creations!
On this layout warm colors of the papers, interesting cut out elements work beautifully against the almost-clean white background.
I'm very happy with the final result, especially since I could find perfectly matching colors of the Pan Pastels and Distress Inks to finish the project!
Here is the list of products by Sizzix:
658526 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Elisse - Flora Grande Collection by Prima
658522 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Albany Rose - Flora Grande Collection by Prima
And of supplies from Prima Marketing:
960094 - A4 Paper Pad - Sunrise Sunset
960100 - Cling Mount Stamps - Sunrise Sunset
960155 - 6X6 DD Art Stencil - Doily

I hope to see you soon - stay tuned! I`ll be back soon!

Layered layouts with Sizzix Sizzlits!
Monday, 3 June, 2013

Hi again! I've been very busy travelling and teaching classes in beautiful, sunny Brazil so today I've got a new dimensional layout for you! It is just amazing how easy it is to construct interesting, detailed composition using scraps of paper and Sizzix Sizzlits Dies together with Sizzlits Decorative Strips to cut out elements for layering.
Here is the example of using white cut outs on colorful layout - white negative space and intricate, beautiful Sizzix cut-outs give a lot of fresh air to the project.
I love using scraps and torn elements - I cut my cut outs into smaller pieces, tear and distress them. The more I can add to the page - the better! Here you can see how they are layered in between the papers , doilies and tags:
And finally - here are the dies I used:
- 658506 - Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Vintage Doily
- 657996 - Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Card, Scallop Circle Insert
- 658001 - Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Interlocking Circles
I hope you will have a great creative week - I'll be back soon with more Sizzix-inspired creations for you!

As I said before, I was teaching 2 Sizzix including classes - and the second of them was "Space, Media, Dimension" - paper layout based on using lots of negative space, little pieces of paper and a lot of cut outs! Just have a look at the photos of my super creative students and all the great time we had!
Here is the sample I've made during this class - as you can see I used many Sizzix dies to create multi-layered composition of my project!

Grungy compositions with Sizzix dies - classes by Finnabair
Tuesday, 14 May, 2013

Hi it is me again!
I'm a bit later this week as I was very busy teaching classes in the Netherlands, in beautiful Sprang-Capelle where I met not only wonderful frendly women from De Scrapheap shop but a large group of wonderful, talented warm hearted students!
During this event I had the pleasure to use Sizzix products during 2 classes... and here I am today with a mini-photo relation from one of them "Steampunk Love". During this clas we were building, heavy, grungy clusters of embellishments on the base of 2 Tim Holtz Dies: 656639 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Elegant Flourishes and 658571 - Sizzix Movers & Shapers Die - Pocket Watch Frame. So, here we go!
And here we are, both class groups presenting our finished project. We surely had a lot of creative fun! Thank you so much, my dear students :)
Finally - here is one of the projects I made with the students - "Steampunk Love" layout!
Can you see where are the cut outs used? They are well hidden - but they helped me a lot with building my composition!
I'll be back very soon with next Sizzix projects - stay tuned!
hugs

Muted colors, inspiring die-cuts... a bit moody today!
Friday, 3 May, 2013

Hi again Sizzix fans!
I can't stop being amazed how easy it is to create a layout using Sizzix dies to make some main parts of the composition! If you have your background done and papers chosen - and a have a look on your dies - you will always come with plenty of ideas! I got inspired by very subtle, muted color palette of 7 Dots Studio Papers (Queen's Heart Collection) and 2 lovely Sizzlits Dies from Scrappy Cat collection: Vintage Doily and Flower - Bloom with Leaves.
I wouldn't be myself if I didn't try something a bit different. This time instead of creating a sweet, pretty flower as suggested on die packaging (Bloom with Leaves) I used the cut out element as it was... somehow it reminded me a fern leaf and was a perfect balance for the Vintage Doilies I used on the same layout.
What is more, I kept a part of the cut out leftover and used in the composition too... I love the effect - how cool is this?
After adding 2-3 pieces of paper, some splashes of paint, stamping and a bit of embellishments my "Hard Day" layout was ready!
Here is the list of the supplies I used:
- 658506 - Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Vintage Doily
- 658501 - Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Flower, Bloom w/Leaves 3-D
- 7 Dots Studio - Queen's Heart Collection
- 7 Gypsies - numeral stamps
- Prima - background stamp, crystals
- Tim Holtz - Tissue tape
- Ranger - Jet Black Archival Ink
- Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist
I wish you all a great, creative week! See you soon!

Freestyle Journaling with Sizzix!
Friday, 26 April, 2013

Hi again!
I've got a serious hoarding problem when it comes to my paper leftovers, especially - pretty papers and Sizzix cut-outs I have left from previous projects. I simply can't get rid of them!
What can I do with them then, except of putting them in a safe place for "later"? I use them for my journal pages - they are perfect add -ons to the background, beautiful details hidden in between the layers! Here are 2 pages of my journal - I used great Paula Pascual butterflies and some Movers and Shapers from Tim Holtz to create them!
The whole idea of the pages in these journal are some paper leftovers for the texture, some gesso, colorful sprays, pencil and black pen... but just look - these cute butterflies are really a perfect embellishing element!
And don't forget about a bit of stamping with Movers and Shapers too - Tim Holtz Numbers together with Jet Black Archival ink worked just perfectly!
Finally - here is a full list of products for you:

Scrapping and Stamping with Tim Holtz dies :)
Friday, 19 April, 2013
Hi friends! How was your week? My was busy as always! I can't believe how many things can happen in one time:) Luckily - I've got my escape - my projects... I can take a deeper breath and just forget about everything:)Here is the project I've made thinking about how to use Sizzix cut outs in a bit different way... And this time it is not only stamping with Movers and Shapers, but also using the Tim Holtz Envelope as a layer in my layout...why not?
Here is what I used for this layout:- 657843 - Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope- 657212 - Sizzix Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set 2PK - Mini Hearts Set- 7 Dots Studio - Love is in the Air Collection - patterned papers- Prima Marketing - Sunrise-Sunset collection - zipper flower, papers. - Prima Marketing - Mechanicals - metal embellishments
- Prima Marketing - resist canvas flowwers, paper flowers, gems, stamps.- Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L - 3D foam squares, EZ Runner- Luminarte - Primary Elements Pigments - paint- Ranger - Archival Ink - Jet Black- gesso, masking tape- some thread, sewing machine, pins, staples etc.
And here is a bot more about how I constructed this page. The Pocket Envelope die was a great base to build dimension under the photo - i just folded and glued the wings...
and I used Movers and Shapers - hearts - not only for cutting out some paper elements but also for stamping on the page. Archival Ink works great for that, but remember to clean the foams quickly!
After adding more layers, embellishments and some finishing touches - the project was ready. I had great fun with experimenting :)I wish you all a great week - see you soon!Finn

Fast and easy: Spring pocket envelope
Friday, 12 April, 2013
Hi again! Spring is not very willing to come here, to Poland. What can we do then to invite it into our country? How about fast, easy to do and optimistic project? To complete this green, flowery envelope you don't need more than 30 minutes. All you need to have are some Sizzix dies (including Tim Holtz Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope), Big Shot machine, some Distress Inks, Embossing folder and embellishments!
Here is the full product list:- 657843 - Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope- 657846 - Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK - Bubble & Honeycomb Set- 658290 - Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Butterflies #4- Ranger: Distress Ink: Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, Pine Needles. Perfect Pearls - Whiten Opal.- 7 Dots Studio - "Love is in the Air" collection papers- Prima Marketing: Mechanicals - Roman Numerals, paper roses, buttons, Junkyard Findings- other: pearl flower, thread.
First you need to cut out the envelope shape and emboss it using one of the Sizzix Embossing Folders. Next step is gluing everything together and inking the paper envelope with Distress Inks in chosen colors. Later we need to do some simple embellishing: I cut out and inked some paper butterflies and prepared a selection of little Prima roses, a button and metal embellishments by Ingvild Bolme. All the composition was build on a bundle of white thread which adds a bit of interesting texture. Finally I added a bit of twine to close the pocket envelope and a bit of Ranger Perfect Pearls in the desired places and the project was ready!
I hope you will have a great, creative week. See you soon!Finn
