  • Two projects by Gerry van Gent

    Sunday, 6 April, 2014

    Hello Sizzix Friends!
Gerry's here today sharing with you two projects.
My first project is a card where I mixed a few dies and
I also used one of the Sizzix stamps.
    You are so sweet {sizzix}

658927 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Dress & Shoes
    658932 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Rosettes
    *     *     *

The phrase was first stamped on some leftover pattern paper
and then the label die (658932) was used to die cut it.
As an addition to the stamped phrase I added three die-cut flowers.

  • A "Mum" Card by Gerry van Gent

    Sunday, 23 March, 2014

    Hello Sizzix Friends!
Today I have another card to share with you
which was created by using the Free Mothers's Day Papers.
In case you didn`t check the papers yet here is a link for you:

FREE PAPER DOWNLOADS for MOTHER'S DAY

    Card size: 10 cm x 15 cm

658221 Sizzix Originals Die Curly Gate
658711 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die Ironwork Gate
    *     *      *
I used two of the pattern papers for my background.
Then I began decorating the card from top to bottom by
adding cut outs from Mother's Day Paper Downloads
and combining them with the beautiful dies.
The banner is originally a small one but to make it look
long I cut into two parts and added them to both sides of the heart.

  • Mother's Day Card by Gerry van Gent

    Sunday, 16 March, 2014

    Hello Sizzix friends!
Did you check already our free to download
    beautiful papers for Mother's day?
I did :-) and I even created already a card
using a few of the papers.
In case you missed them here is the link for you:
Free Paper Downloads for Mother's Day

My double card is based om white cardstock
and it has sizes: 10 cm x 15 cm
    On Mother's Day_Fotor

659436 Sizzix Bigz Die Garden Greens
658850 Sizzix Thinlits Die Conservatory Window
    *     *     *
I didn't use the Conservatory Window itself but
the "leftover" frame. I used a pair of scissors to round
the top corners and then adhered the frame on top of the pattern paper.
    OMD_Frame

I fussy cut two of the patterns and one phrase
so I can use them on my card.
I combined the banner with the heart and
    added the phrase above them.
    OMD_close 2

For the Garden Greens I used white cardstock -
simply because they pop up very well against the background.
Then I added three cute flowers as a final touch.
    OMD_close 1

I didn`t miss to adhere most of the card "ingredients" :-)
with my favourite foam squares so I will have more dimension.

  • March Card by Gerry van Gent

    Sunday, 2 March, 2014

    Hello Sizzix Friends!
Can you believe it? It`s already March.
And that means that Spring is just around the corner.
To Welcome the month of March I created a card for you
where I am using the new Jumbo Tatttered Florals die.

658252 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die Cobblestones
656938 Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die Tag & Bookplates

    *     *     *

To make the flowers I used white soft packaging material.
I die cut two sizes of the tattered flowers -
for each flower I die cut a few of the flowers.
I also used 4 different colours paint (sprays!).
Once the flowers were dry I used a heat tool to wrinkle the petals.
N.B. It takes only a second to heat in the middle so the petals will pop up.

This is how they looked like before I added the brads in the centres.

The leaves were die cut from the Garden Greens.
I die cut them from corrugated cardboard and pattern paper.
The die-cut leaves from pattern paper were also embossed and
then adhered on top of the corrugated cardboard ones.

  • Everyday card by Gerry van Gent

    Sunday, 23 February, 2014

    Hello Sizzix friends!
It`s Sunday and I am ready to share with you my latest
card created with two of the recently released Thinlits dies.
If you need to make a quick surprise card for
your best friend all you need is .... two awesome dies :-)
    Best Friend
    657900 Sizzix Big Shot machine
659127 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Frame Layers & Flower #2
659131 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Labels, Long

    *    *    *

As a base of my card I used a double round card from white cardstock
which has almost the same diameter as the inner (yellow-white) die-cut circle.
I left the round double card 1/2 cm bigger so I can adhere
round the edges the scallop die-cut circle.
I die cut the Frame Layers & Flower #2 twice using
    two different pattern papers.
    Best Friend 1
The Long label was die cut from the same pattern paper as
the scallop circle. On top I added the phrase - I used foam squares
for more dimension. Then I fussy cut a few patterns.
Pearls and twine were added for decoration.
    Best Friend 2
    OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:
Webster's Pages - "Party Time!" paper collection

I hope you enjoyed my card today!
    Have a beautiful Sunday!

  • Simple Layout by Gerry van Gent

    Sunday, 16 February, 2014

    Hello Sizzix friends!
I hope you all enjoyed a very special
Valentine's Day with your loved ones!
Today I would love to share with you my
vision of a simple layout using gorgeous Sizzix dies.

    Hello

658850 Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Conservatory Window
658780 Sizzix Bigz Die Window & Window Box

    *   *   *
Because I wanted to add flowers and the collection
didn`t have any I decided to make my own.
I simply chose different pattern papers and die cut some flowers.
For the centers I die cut exactly around the tiny white hearts.
    Hello 1

This window is a combination of two dies -
    Hello 2
The top of the Conservatory Window was used
on top of the other window.

Valentine's Day is approaching and today I would
love to share another project created for this occasion.
And once again for my today's project I used our FREE

    Here is my tag....
I used one of the pattern papers as a background and
then I began adding embellishments to decorate it.

Different dies were used to die cut my embellishments...
The red heart - between the twine - was first stamped and then die cut.
You will find the word "cute" printed on one of the pattern papers -
I used a small banner die which fit perfectly.

    Happy Sunday Sizzix friends!
It`s February and soon we are celebrating
the sweetest day of all - Valentine's Day.

Today I created two Valentine cards for you.
Both cards were created with our Free Valentine's Paper Downloads
which are so beautiful and gorgeous. The colours and the patterns
are not only suitable for your Valentine's cards but also for other occasions.
    Crazy for you

658221 Sizzix Originals Die Curly Gate

The Curly Gate pattern was die cut from corrugated cardboard and
white cardstock. After that I glued them both on top of each other
and then adhered on the front of the card.

    Hello Sizzix friends!
    Happy New Year!
Sending you all the best wishes for 2014!
Let this be a healthy, happy and a very creative year!

Today I want to share with you a small gift box I created using
Eileen Hull's Candy Jars Dies which is one of my favourites.

For front/back sides of the box I used as a base corrugated cardboard
which I die cut together with the pattern paper.
Once the pattern paper was adhered I distressed the edges with sand paper.
    Gift Box (front)
    657900 Sizzix Big Shot Machine

To make the sides more steady I added modelling paste.
