"A Smile for Mom" by Gerry van Gent
Happy Sunday Sizzix friends!
Maybe you have already guessed (by the title!) that my
blog post today is dedicated to my mom. Living far away from
my mom is not only hard for me but also hard for my mom.
That's why I love sending her photos - and of course, some of
the photos are scrapped like this one today.
Perfect present for Mother's Day!
I chose my favourite "scrap" canvas which is A4 size and
perfectly matching the Sizzix Big Shot Plus machine.658506 Sizzix Sizzlits Die Set Vintage Doily657176 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Alphabet Typeset558504 Sizzix Sizzlits L Die Flower Rose 3D* * *My very first step was to emboss the background paper.I used the A4 Embossing Folder included in the Starter Kit.The die-cut letter "a" was adhered underneath an epoxy sticker.I die cut a few times both of these Decorative Bubblesusing different papers. Then I began mixing them andcreating embellishments for my photo. The big flower was created by using both sizes Bigz Die flowers includedin the Starter Kit - I die cut them so many times until the flower looked "full".For the centre I hand made the rose by using one of the old dies (558504 Rose 3D)I added a bit of Stickles.Other Products I used:Maja Design PapersLindy's Stamp Gang SpraysPrima Marketing Embellishments* * *Thank you for visiting today!Have a creative Sunday!

Hello Sizzix Peeps!Did you have a great week so far? I hope so :-)Well, I am an Instagram fan and I love posting photos there takenwith my phone. Some of the photos I take are really faves and worthscrapping. Just like this photo of my kids - had to treasure up it on a layout. For my blog post today I used the absolutely awesome Sizzix Big Shot Plusmachine and some of the awesome dies included in the Starter Kit!658526 Sizzix Bigz Die Elisse* * *I began creating the layout by die cutting the scalloped tags - two of each size. For the tags I used corrugated cardboard which I left "natural" ...From the Decorative Trim #2 die set I used the hearts border....I die cut it a few times and I outlined some of the hearts with white pen.The beautiful flower die from the Starter Kit was die cut in total 6 times. For each flower I used two different colors.I wanted the background to be more playful so....I cut separately some of the hearts from Decorative Trim #2and adhered them on the background.I am so in love with the butterflies from the Starter Kit....they are so intricate and pretty! For my project I die cut the butterflies lots of times andI simply layered them - I prepared 3 "sets" of butterflies...One of the layered butterflies was cut in the middle and usedfor decoration at both (left/right) edges.OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:Prima Marketing flowersPrima Marketing Bloom Girls SprayIngvild Bolme Metallic EmbelliesSakura white pen* * *Thank you so much for visiting us today!Have a creative Sunday!

Hello Sizzix friends!
Happy Sunday to all of you!
Today I have another layout to share with you... this time
mixing some new and old dies which were so much fun to play with.
This photo (of my daughter and I) makes me smile and feel so happy -
a great memory of last Summer so I decided to scrap it and of course
Happiness Phrases dies were the perfect touch to it.657491 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders Springtime Background* * *To make the butterflies I used my favourite brown fabric canvas. On top I adhered another layer of the pretty Butterflies but this time Iused another material - sort of hard fabric which looks like grid. They used it as anti-slip underlay for carpets/rugs (Ikea)To make my butterfly pop and catch attention I addeda small flower and I added cute white antennae.......and some more close-ups for you.....Before I used the Mixed Media thinlits die Icut a strip of the bottom part of the background pattern paper (approx. 6cm).Then I die cut the paper strip from begin to end - using 4 times the Mixed Media die.OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:Maja Design Pattern PapersPrima Marketing FlowersIngvild Bolme Distressing Tool* * *Thank you for your visit!Have a creative Sunday!
"Disneyland Paris" layout by Gerry van Gent
Hello Sizzix friends!Enjoying your weekend? I hope so :-)For my blog post today I prepared a layout where I scrapped
some funny photos (of my kids) taken in Disneyland, France.
And because I couldn't decide which photo to scrap I decided
to scrap more than one... and the Splat Die solved my "problem"
for placing so many photos on one page perfectly!* * *I used the Splat Die for decorating my photos.Firstly, I die cut the photos with the smallest Circle (3.18 cm = 1 1/4")which fits perfectly on top of the Splat Die.Secondly, I die cut twice the Splat Dies for each photousing two different pattern papers. The dark die-cut splat I used as a shadow. Here are more close-up photos for you...When I die cut the diamonds motif from the Mixed Media setI used part of it for decoration. I fussy cut it carefully...and doodled a bit by using white pen.Love how perfectly the smallest Circle (3.18 cm = 1 1/4") fits...great solution if you want to use more photos on a one-page layout.Mickey got some cool diamonds motifs as well :-)Lots of dimension because of the foam tape I used...OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:White CardstockPrima Marketing - pattern papers, flowers, mask, Paris embellishment, chalk edgersTim Holtz maskCrafters Workshop maskThe Scrapbook Diaries clear stampsPan Pastels* * *Thank you for visiting us!Have a creative Sunday!
Colourful Cards by Gerry van Gent
Hello Sizzix Friends and Happy 1st of March!!Can you believe it? It is already March? Time surely flies :-)I am already in a Spring mood and I am absolutely looking forwardto some warm and colourful season like Spring. And by saying thismy projects today are two cards in bright, happy and cheerful colours.657900 Sizzix Big Shot machine* * *My first card is featuring the diamonds Mixed Media die....I basically die cut the diamonds twice on a piece of white cardstock. Then I misted the cardstock and adhered it on top of another white piece of cardstock. After that I tore it diagonally somewhere in the middle -I kind of resized it to fit on the front of my (14 cm x 10 cm) card. The stamped and die cut Word Label was used to decorate the flower.I simply adhered it in the center of the flower.I added glitter for a bit of shiny effect. And my second card today...To make this card I used the Circles dies with approx. sizes 4 1/4" and 3 3/4".657900 Sizzix Big Shot machine* * *I used white cardstock to die cut the Circle with size 3 3/4".Then I die cut the Mixed Media die twice - top and bottom of the circle.Once ready I misted it in green and placed itunderneath another die-cut Circle with size 3 3/4".The Alphanumeric letters were die cut twice using white and red cardstock. The red letters I used as shadow letters.Hope you enjoyed my "Spring-inspired" cards today!Thank you so much for visiting us today!Have a creative Sunday!
Home Decor Frame by Gerry van Gent
Hello Sizzix friends and happy Sunday!Today I prepared for you a home decor framefeaturing two stunning NEW dies by Sizzix. This frame is supereasy to create and it makes it a great present for your....friends :-)The size is 25 cm x 25 cm (approx. 9,9 inches x 9,9 inches)* * *The white background paper was treated with a few colors of spray paint and ink.N.B. The inner frame is 19 cm x 19 cm!Two different stamps were used here:1. A text stamp so it will match my "Friends" title.2. A flourish stamp to match the butterflies - Flowers & butterfliesare always a perfect match .The "friends" title was die-cut twice and adhered on top of each other.I used black cardstock...and because I was missing a bit of "glam" I"painted" the letters by using a black "Sharpie" marker.Love the "shiny" result!Well, I simply love the new Butterflies Die by Tim Holtz. No wonder I made this home decor frame featuring these cuties.I used 4 different pattern papers to die-cut them and then emboss them.Did you know that the Butterfly Duo Bigz die comes with anEmbossing folder so you get this amazing texture on these butterflies?Once the butterflies were die cut and embossed I used sanding paper to distress them...... after that I fussy cut four images so I can decorate the butterflies...OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:Prima Marketing - stencil, clear stampsMaja Design - pattern paperTattered Angels - clear stampsLindy's Stamp Gang SpraysDutch Doobadoo - modeling paste* * *Have a creative Sunday!Gerry
A "Congrats!" Layout by Gerry van Gent
Hello Sizzix peeps!Happy Sunday to all of you ....
Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day with your loved ones!Today I prepared another layout for you using New Sizzix dies and a"touch" of old ones ....a perfect combination :-)
This photo of my son was taken last Summer on his 11th birthday -
a day certainly worth remembering :-) and treasuring on the wall.657826 Sizzix Sizzlits Dec. Strip Die Washer Border* * *To give more dimension and "glam" to the letters from my title Iadded "Dimensional Magic". To be sure the letters won't wrinkle andto make them flat I die cut each letter three times. Then I adhered each letter on top of each other - it makes them now stable.Subsequently I added the three dimensional accent.N.B. I used the exclamation mark as a "body" for the dragonfly. It took 3 hours for the letters to dry!But once dry the result is simply amazing. As a final touch I distressed the letters with ink.The Bookplate was die cut from corrugated cardboard and dark brown pattern paper. When I adhered the pattern paper on top of the corrugated cardboard I distressed thepattern paper with sanding paper. As a result you get "white" spots -these white spots I painted with blue paint.I did almost the same with the die cut pattern paper matting the photo.First I die cut the paper by using one of the NEW Mixed Media dies. Then I painted the edges with gesso and once drie I painted with blue paint.I used this flower shape to decorate my embellishments.I hope you enjoyed my project today!Have a creative Sunday!
