Hello, everyone !
I hope you have had a nice holiday. It's Jasleen here, and it's my turn to share something creative with you all today.
Do you like reading? If yes, then today's post is especially for you and all the book-lovers ;)
I made a few bookmarks using the Sizzix Bigz die with texture fades - Feather duo by Tim Holtz, and I must say, I totally loved working with this die set. It comes along with a co-ordinating embossing folder.
Supplies from sizzix.co.uk:-
660020--- Sizzix Big Shot Plus Machine(white and gray)
660237---- Sizzix Bigz die with Texture fades-Feather duos by Tim Holtz
Other supplies :-
Card stock- Neenah white -classic crest
water colour paper- Brusto
Tim Holtz Distress inks
Charms, button, sequins, baker's twine, etc.
For die-cutting, I made the following arrangement -cutting plate, die, paper followed by another cutting plate on the top and ran the sandwich through the Big shot plus machine. I obtained several feather die-cuts, and of these, I embossed a few of them by placing the die cut in the embossing folder and running again through the machine, using a Sizzix platform and the Adaptor B as well.
I kept a few of the die-cuts unembosssed/flat and as you can see in the picture above, water coloured them using different colours of distress inks . After letting them completely dry, wrote a few of my favorite inspiring quotes using a calligraphy pen.
For making the bookmark that you see in the above picture, I used the negative of the die cut feather and arranged it over the coloured panel. This panel was coloured using Lindy's stamp gang magical mica powders mixed with water. I LOVE the shimmery effect it gives, looks so much better in real. Added a strip of golden washi tape alongwith a strip of b/w patterned paper and finished it off with some white sequins.
As you can see in the above picture, these are the bookmarks that I embossed . Just sponged them with some distress inks over one side and added the charms along with the twine. I wanted to keep them as simple as possible so just added a matching coloured feather, a simple sentiment and it was done.
And last but not the least, a bookmark that I made by just doodling and with a little pop of colour. See below :-
That's all from my side. I hope you liked these easy bookmark ideas and feel inspired to try your own.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week ! :)
