Butterfly Lantern

Hello everyone. This is Jasleen, and today I’m sharing how I made a paper lantern using the popular and wonderful Sizzix® Thinlits™ Die Set 9PK - Butterfly Lantern.

Products used:

Sizzix® Big Shot™ Express Machine Only (660850)

Sizzix® Thinlits™ Die Set 9PK - Butterfly Lantern (661093)

Gray Card stock A4 sheet, Patterned papers, Glue, Pearls, etc.

Method:

  • The butterfly lantern die set contains 9 dies, which includes one main die for making the body of the lantern, one die for the handle, and the remaining dies like butterfly dies, floral vine, etc can be mixed and matched to make some embellishments.

  • For making this cute little lantern, which measures about 12 centimeters in height and 5 centimeters in width, we need to die cut four pieces of the main body , which need to be assembled by gluing the tabs to the edges of the adjacent die cut pieces.

  • Then we can embellish it the way we wish to, making use of some colourful pattern papers, stones, pearls, ribbon, etc.

Super simple and a quick to make. Fabulous gifting option. We celebrate festival of lights-Diwali in India every year in October/November and I think it would be a nice idea to keep a battery operated Diya/candle in it and it would make a lovely home décor piece. What do you think ? :)

See you all with a new make, next Tuesday.
